Here is one of two stories James Merrell shot for the June issue of Living Etc magazine! The story features the eclectic and modern home of Shaun Clarkson and Paul Brewster located in north London. Interior and textile designers (respectively), the owners share in the article that they were originally inspired by the Alfred Hitchcock movie Rope. "It started out with a very muted palette -- mainly blue and grey tones with little pops of colour. But as we've grown into the house it's become much more colourful and contemporary, mainly because we can't stop buying new things."
The neutral tones of the apartment coupled with the accents of color and the quirky decorative details made for a perfect shoot environment for James alligning perfectly with his style. Beautiful story, take a peek:
James Merrell has a beautiful story in the April issue of Living Etc.! When I finally get around to building that dream home some day, I think I'll decorate each room after a different James Merrell story--this one included!
Looking to go to Paris? Well, you're in luck! The story "17 Paris Finds" in the April issue of Travel + Leisure sheds some light onto the perpetual question of "where to stay?" in the City of Lights. The hotels featured in the story are supposed to provide visitors with with a genuine "neighborhood" feel making them feel more like "locals". JMI's James Merrell hopped on the train to Paris and spent a few days photographing some of these amazing locations! Take a look!

Surprise! James has not only one story in the magazine out this month but he actually has two! He photographed the "Smart Guide to London"! It's an exciting time in London right now with the upcoming Olympics and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Living in London, James really knows the "important places" around the city! You don't want to miss these beautifully captured images... but we have to leave some suspense...go grab the magazine!
Leave it to legendary film director Francis Ford Coppola to open the most picturesque 7-suite hotel, Palazzo Margherita, in the small town of Bernalda in Southern Italy. Every detail enhances the magical setting, from the hand painted ceilings to the personality of each suite, named after members of the famed Coppola family who helped with the design. James Merrell photographed the luxury compound for WSJ Magazine, on stands now. See the full story here.
We were very excited to open up the December 2011/January 2012 issue of Living Etc Magazine and see the beautiful story that James Merrell shot of Tricia Guild in her home. The feature entitled "Deck the Halls" showcases the founder of Designers Guild's beautiful home and festive holiday decorations with a twist. Forget the traditional holiday colors of red and green when checking out this story!

James Merrell recently shot for Farrow & Ball paint company, and they look AMAZING!

[/caption] Just another day in the life.... James Merrell spent three days in the sun - and sometimes waste deep in the pool - while shooting the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with the ad agency Cramer-Krasselt. This was happening at the end of February... when it was still FREEZING and gross in NYC... must be nice.
